BSN

British Satellite News (BSN) is a free television news service, providing overseas broadcasters with coverage of worldwide topical events and stones from a British perspective. A 10-minute bulletin is transmitted Monday to Friday providing major news, business, science, health, environment, culture and sports stories There is an additional 10-mmute feature series on Friday The service is offered in five languages BSN has a multi-lingual website with an archive search facility www.bsn.org.uk

 

Infonation

Infonation is the broadcast documentary department of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office It produces a wide range of documentary programmes on cultural and scientific themes aimed at a global television audience. International Press Section

International Press Section (IPS) is the Foreign & Commonwealth Office's specialist link with the foreign press, promoting overseas coverage of government policies and UK achievements and priorities IPS has four parts:

  • London Correspondents' Service (LCS) -targets around 1,700 London-based foreign correspondents from 90 countries and provides hard news and feature opportunities
  • Inward Media Visits - arranges programmes for visiting journalists and government spokespeople from all parts of the globe
  • London Press Service - supplies news, features and material for overseas publication and for use by our embassies
  • Familiarisation Visits - arranges programmes of individual appointments for locally engaged Press and Public Affairs Officers in our diplomatic Posts.

IPS offers advice on overseas coverage of cross-Government initiatives to diplomatic Posts and Whitehall and works with the Prime Minister's Press Office on issues involving the foreign media. IPS also works with the private sector, business and industry, academic institutions and cultural organisations, to present a positive image of Britain overseas. Foreign journalists are the major source of opinion about the UK overseas. Through them, IPS reaches directly 800 newspapers, 170 magazines and 120 news agencies, as well as radio, TV and internet bulletins, with a global audience of millions. LRS

London Radio Service (LRS) is an international producer and syndicator of news and programmes. LRS supplies high quality, free to air, audio news and programming content in six languages to radio stations, internet sites, journalists and audio broadcasters all over world.
