The Countryside Competition

What do you have to do?

  • The task is to write either a piece of prose (in any form you want) or poem (up to 400 words) on the theme:

My Experience of the Countryside

It could be a piece of creative writing or an account based on a response to the landscape (in the UK or Poland or whatever country you are from). It could be based on a recent visit to the UK, on current issues, something you observed, something you took part in or it could be something quite different and original of your own. If you have a photo of your countryside content you could submit it too (but not just of yourself!).

Ideas for themes and styles can be found throughout the webpages e.g. (click to see) Impressions, or the Countryside and Literature.

There will be attractive book prizes and the best entries will be published in future editions of the British Studies web pages.

Send your entries (hard copy or in electronic format) to:
Ewelina Wróblewska, The British Council, Al. Jerozolimskie 59, 00-697 Warsaw, Poland
e-mail: ewelina.wroblewska@britishcouncil.pl

[Closing date for entries: December 14, 2001]

The competition is open to both teachers and students!
