This crossword is aimed at secondary school students (14+) and adult learners, interested in various aspects of Polish and British heritage. By solving the puzzle they not only check their linguistic competence, but also test their knowledge acquired at other classes at school, e.g. Polish literature, history, geography, art, etc. Although the countries concerned are distant in the matter of geography, history and language, the crossword shows that perhaps they share some common elements. The exercise obviously contains an educational element - if the students cannot guess the missing entry, they get hints from the computer –- and thus can learn some new information connected with the culture of the two areas.

Here are some suggestions for speaking practice in the form of open discussions that could be held after students finish the crossword:

2. How could heritage be preserved?
3. Is it worth preserving all kinds of remnants of the past?
