- www.allrecipes.com - Tried-and-tested family favourites submitted by home cooks. This easy-to-use site offers thousands of recipes, each with numerous variations.
- www.recipeland.com - More than 40,000 recipes, including information on how to dig your own earth oven and then roast a pig Hawaiian-style.
- www.epicurious.com - This glossily produced site has plenty of gourmet recipes, accompanied by saliva-inducing photographs.
- www.alastra.com - The first recipe archive to appear on the net, this has tens of thousands of recipes, rated and organised by category.
- www.fishersnet.com - With the slogan: "Kill what you can, consume what you kill", this wild game site is definitely not for vegetarians. Includes tips on preparing your prey, from muscrat to alligator, and a recipe for crow pie.
- www.ent.iastate.edu/misc/insectsasfood.html - Advice on how to cook insects, from Iowa State University's entymology department. Recipes include banana-worm and candied crickets.
