Don't Forget Your Past - Let It Live for the Future |
|||||
|
While visiting Poland’s most beautiful
and picturesque sites we cannot forget that they all are of great importance for our past and present. They have not only historical but also artistic value and were silent witnesses to Polish history. ![]() Some are so old
that they have become ruins, e.g. the castles at Janowiec and Kazimierz
Dolny, but as they are situated on hills, they
offer panoramic view
of the surrounding countryside. Others, restored with their
gardens and all
possible details, are
preserved for future
generations, such as
Zamojski’s Kozłówka Palace,
a museum now,
or Puławy Palace
- the
former Czartoryski property - with a beautiful park. ![]() We can
also admire various
architecture styles – from the
gothic 14th
century cathedral in
Sandomierz, through
the renaissance houses
in Kazimierz Dolny to the post-modern Warsaw University library. Many of
these like Kazimierz
Dolny or Nałęczów are
considered ‘jewels’ by
artists and writers, actors and
painters,
who love to
work and rest
there. A lot
of tourists visiting
these places share
their opinion and
leave with unforgettable impressions. TASK If you liked
the tasks and want to do some more, go to the Quiz Corner. |
