The following materials were gathered during a summer ethnographic study tour of Wales. The aim was to interview people about what Welshness or Welsh identity is. Wales as a part of the United Kingdom has been a member of the EU since 1973; however, only recently it has gained some more political independence within the UK as a result of the devolution.

Many of the countries applying for the EU membership were concerned about losing their national identity, i.e. language, tradition and individuality and the following interviews attempt to investigate the issue on the example of Wales.
