Heritage Expressed through Songs

Prepared by two Liceum teachers: Małgorzata Wilewska from Warsaw and Joanna Burdzińska from Opole

Some questions:

  • Do you listen to songs?

  • What songs do you know?

  • Which ones do you listen to most?

Songs are part of our everyday life.

  • What are the themes of the songs you listen to?
  • Do they tell any personal stories?

Songs are not only pleasant and entertaining but they also reflect the most important things in our lives

For example:

v      historical events (The Star-Spangled Banner, Czerwone maki);

v      social problems (Streets of London, Dzieci);

v      traditions (Cicha noc/Silent Night, Auld Lang Syne);

v      regional characteristics (W murowanej piwnicy, Dirty Old Town);

v      personal experience (Luka, Jolka);
